Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this role plays a vital part in managing the purchasing and shipment of materials essential for supporting aircraft maintenance across the airline.
As the Purchasing and Logistics Executive, you will be deeply involved in various logistics activities related to aircraft maintenance and material management. This includes overseeing routine and material shipments to and from the maintenance facility, handling special items like engines and inlets, and managing material movements from their maintenance base and outstations. Your proactive engagement with stakeholders and users will be crucial in ensuring seamless daily material support.
In this role, you will be responsible for the setup and management of an effective supplier network to meet the Group's transportation and logistics needs. Additionally, you will handle short-term logistics requirements on a 24x7 basis, manage quarantined materials, and monitor the Group's main warehouse and sub-stores, adhering to relevant storage and issuance procedures.
To succeed in this role, you should have proven experience in logistics, material management, or a related field. Excellent communication and negotiating skills are essential, as is a demonstrated ability to manage material certification requirements in accordance with relevant regulations.
As part of your responsibilities, you will issue purchase orders for the timely provisioning of materials, manage unserviceable rotable components requiring repair, and oversee the repair cycle to ensure timely completion within the agreed timeframe and budget. Your collaboration with contracted component and material providers will be critical in ensuring the timely provisioning of components and other materials.
