The Role
As Director of Avionics & Electrical Engineering, you will provide strategic and technical leadership across avionics, software, electrical engineering, and EWIS disciplines. Reporting into senior engineering leadership, you will oversee a large, high-performing team responsible for the design, integration, certification, and continued development of aircraft systems in compliance with FAA Part 23 regulations.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategy, people leadership, technical oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.
About You
You will be an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in avionics and electrical systems within the aerospace sector. You will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or similar
- Extensive industry experience (typically 12+ years) within aircraft systems
- Proven leadership experience managing large, multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of avionics, electrical, software systems, and system integration
- Experience working within FAA certification environments (Part 23/25/27/29)
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence at senior level
- A passion for mentoring, developing teams, and driving engineering excellence
