The Role
As a B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Engineer within the Heavies Engineering Team, you will play a key role in the delivery of base maintenance across multiple helicopter types. Reporting to the Chief Engineer and working under the daily guidance of the Aircraft Check Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Performing and certifying base maintenance tasks, including scheduled inspections, MODs, and defect rectification.
- Overseeing and certifying work carried out by unlicensed engineers and specialist trades.
- Ensuring all maintenance activity meets required airworthiness, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Issuing certifications within your authorised scope.
- Reporting any quality issues or incidents relating to personnel, materials, equipment, tools, or facilities.
For Aberdeen, the pattern is: 4 on, 4 off then 6 on, 6 off, working 11-hour days (incl. 30-minute break).
There is also potential flexibility to discuss a 14/14 rotation.
About You
You will be a safety-driven, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working as part of a small, highly skilled maintenance team. You will bring:
- CAA B1.3 Licence (essential).
- Relevant helicopter maintenance experience, ideally in a base/heavies environment.
- Experience or type-rating on AW189, AW13 or S92 preferred, but not essential.
- Strong team player with excellent adaptability and work ethic.
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within small teams.
- Strong numerical skills and analytical capability.
- Motivated to deliver work to a high standard, consistently and safely.
- Good IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
