This is a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the Director of Operations, with wide-reaching responsibility across ground operations and client management.
Key Responsibilities As Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and service standards across the organisation. Your core responsibilities will include:
Operational Oversight
- Lead the day-to-day management of Aircraft Managers, Operations Controllers, and Flight Dispatchers.
- Ensure effective scheduling and manpower planning to support 24/7 operations.
- Manage departmental budgets, aircraft billing cycles, and headcount planning.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
- Promote the highest standards of safety by supporting industry and regulatory initiatives.
- Oversee the prompt resolution of compliance monitoring audit findings.
- Ensure operations staff are trained and compliant with company procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Administer the Company Flight Time Limitations (FTL) scheme and ensure accurate duty record keeping.
- Liaise closely with the airworthiness team to ensure fleet readiness and contract adherence.
- Maintain strong relationships with aircraft owners and clients, overseeing billing, contract management, and onboarding of new aircraft.
- Support the charter team on enquiries related to the existing fleet.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to the operations team, ensuring their professional growth aligns with the company’s evolving needs.
- Attend Safety Action Group meetings as the operations department representative.
- Proven experience in flight operations management within the aviation sector (business aviation preferred).
- Strong understanding of crewing, flight planning, and aircraft performance across blended fleets.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.
- Proficient in interpreting and applying regulatory standards, including EASA and UK CAA frameworks.
- Confident in budget management and operational cost control.
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially in billing, compliance, and scheduling.
- A proactive, solution focused mindset with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- You must hold the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.
