The Safety Manager assists in the development and administration of the organization's safety management processes and maintains the adherence to all regulatory requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and management.
- Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks, as listed in the safety action plan, unless action follow-up is addressed by the compliance monitoring function.
- Provide periodic reports on safety performance to the safety review board.
- Ensure the maintenance of safety management documentation.
- Ensure that there is safety training available, and that it meets acceptable standards.
- Provide advice on safety matters.
- Ensure the initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence investigations.
- Report to the Accountable manager on safety related matters.
- Ensure the initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence investigations.
- Is responsible for establishing feedback from maintenance incidents/issues and feeding these back into the continuation training program.
- Establish regular meetings with the Accountable manager to appraise the effectiveness of the safety management system. This will include details of any assessed risks or occurrences not being adequately addressed.
- practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation/safety related field (preferable)
- 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
- In-depth knowledge of EASA/FAA Part 145 regulations and safety management systems.
- A relevant engineering or technical degree, or an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority.
