A fast-growing aviation services provider is seeking a Sales Director to lead the commercial function, spearhead business growth, and drive revenue across the UK and European markets.
This is a senior-level position suited to a proven commercial leader who combines industry knowledge with strong business development capability. The successful candidate will take ownership of the commercial pipeline, lead the sales department, and be a central figure in driving strategic growth for the business.
This role requires strong aviation industry experience, particularly around MRO, airline services, and maintenance sales. You must be confident representing the business externally and skilled at building long-term relationships with airlines, lessors, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Leadership:
Lead day-to-day operations of the sales and commercial function. Translate the company’s strategic objectives into actionable commercial initiatives. - New Business Development:
Build and implement an effective strategy to target and win new business opportunities across MRO and related aviation services. Create and execute a robust pipeline of prospects and convert them into long-term clients. - Client Relationship Management:
Maintain and grow strong relationships with existing customers. Act as a key contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and continued growth of accounts. - Strategic Marketing & Positioning:
Shape and execute the company's marketing strategy to enhance market visibility and ensure competitive positioning within the MRO sector. - Data & Insight-Driven Planning:
Analyse sales performance, customer data, and market trends to assess business growth opportunities and shape future sales strategies. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with operational, engineering, and finance teams to align commercial agreements with operational capacity and profitability goals. - Continuous Improvement:
Stay ahead of industry developments and client needs. Proactively improve the company’s service offering and commercial approach to stay competitive.
- Strong and proven sales track record within aviation, ideally MRO or related technical services
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance structures, commercial agreements, and cost modelling
- Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships across the aviation value chain
- High-level communication skills with a commercial mindset and analytical capability
- Experience leading sales teams or functions in a dynamic, results-driven environment
- Comfortable working independently and owning senior-level relationships across the industry
