GOOSE Recruitment is proud to share that we have recently been selected by Star Air as their Pilot recruitment partner. After only officially beginning operations in January 2019, this new airline is on a mission to recruit Embraer 145 Captains to join them in their new venture. 

Star Airis an Indian Airline based out of Kempe Gowda International Airport in Bangalore, India. As the first scheduled commuter operator to operate out of Bangalore, this start-up airline has a strong mission to “connect PAN India” by flying to multiple locations. Having only been in operation for eight months, Star Air are already well on their way with this mission and has set up additional bases in Tirupati Airport (TIR), Belgaum Airport (IXG) and Hubballi Airport (HBX), India.

As a scheduled commuter operator, Star Air has a fleet of Embraer ERJ145, which are the best in their class. Operating a new fleet gives this airline a strong advantage in its mission to provide its customers with outstanding service. Star Air’s Chairman, Mr.Sanjay Ghodawat has stated that the airline has “plans to help the Indian travellers connect to various locations at affordable rates with the best in service.”

Star Air currently has two aircraft in service and five additional Embraer EJ145-LR aircraft on order, all with a passenger capacity of 50. Although still relatively small in operation, Star Air is a new extension of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group (SGG), which is a well-known business across several industries, including; Aviation, Agro, Energy, Mining, Consumer Products and Education. Over the last five years, Sanjay Ghodawat Group has operated as the leading helicopter operator in India. With years of legacy behind them, SGG has over 10,000 employees and is headquartered in the Maharashtra State of India. So, although Star Air is a relatively new Scheduled Passenger Airline its legacy and good business reputation put them in a leading position to succeed in the world of aviation and provide a great flying experience to all of its customers.  

To ensure its success, Star Air has a requirement to recruit the best talent the aviation industry has to offer. Therefore, this carrier is looking for experienced Captains, Type-Rated Instructors and Type-Rated Examiners to fly their Embraer 145 on their PAN India routes.

If you meet the following requirements and would like the opportunity to live and work in India, a new Pilot role with Star Air could be waiting for you. You must have;

  • A valid Airline Transport Pilot License

  • A valid Class 1 Medical

  • ICAO English Level 4

  • A total of 4,000 flying hours

  • A total of 2,000 PIC hours

  • 500 PIC hours on the Embraer 145

  • Valid proficiency checks on the Embraer 145

  • Three take-offs/landings within the past 90 days

  • No history of accidents/incidents

  • A certificate of no criminal history

In return successful candidates will receive a number of benefits, including;

  • A roster of either 8 weeks ON/3 weeks OFF, 10 weeks ON/3 weeks or 13 weeks ON/3 weeks OFF
