Flight Crew FAQs
At GOOSE Recruitment, we understand the unique career paths of flight crew professionals. Whether you're a pilot, cabin crew member, or flight instructor, this FAQ is designed to support you with clear, relevant answers as you navigate your next opportunity in the aviation industry.
What flight crew roles do you recruit for?
We recruit a wide range of flight crew positions globally, including Captains, First Officers, Type-Rated and Non-Type-Rated Pilots, Cabin Crew, Cabin Managers, and Flight Instructors. Our clients include airlines, ACMI operators, and flight training academies.
What are the minimum requirements for pilot roles?
Requirements vary by role, but typically you’ll need a valid commercial pilot licence (CPL or ATPL), a current class 1 medical certificate, relevant flight hours (often 500+), and recent experience on type. Some employers may also require a specific type rating or experience on certain aircraft (e.g. A320, B737, E190).
Do you recruit for both type-rated and non-type-rated pilots?
Yes. While many employers prefer type-rated pilots, we also recruit non-type-rated pilots, especially for airlines offering type rating sponsorship or cadet programmes.
Do you recruit for cabin crew roles?
Yes. We recruit cabin crew at all levels—from entry-level flight attendants to senior cabin crew and pursers. We also work with business aviation operators seeking VIP flight attendants.
Can you help me find international flight crew jobs?
Absolutely. We work with aviation employers worldwide and frequently have roles that include relocation assistance, visa sponsorship, or commuting contracts. We guide you through country-specific requirements such as licence conversions, medical exams, and training.
What documents do I need to apply?
Typically, you’ll need your CV, copies of your licence(s), medical certificate, passport, training certificates, and flight logbook. For cabin crew, photos and attestation documents may also be required.
What if I haven’t flown recently?
Some employers accept pilots with reduced currency, especially if you’re willing to complete a refresher or simulator session. We can advise you on options to improve your employability.
Can I apply for a type-rated role if I haven’t flown the aircraft in over 12 months?
In most cases, no. To be considered for a type-rated position, you’ll typically need a valid LPC (Licence Proficiency Check) on the aircraft type and recent experience, ideally within the last three months. If you haven’t flown the aircraft in over 12 months, you may be required to complete refresher training or a simulator session before being considered by most employers.
How can I make my CV stand out to recruiters and employers?
Clearly detail your total and recent flight hours, along with specific aircraft experience to highlight your suitability quickly. Be transparent about your licences and ratings, including expired ones, as some employers consider refresher training. Tailor your CV to each role by focusing on relevant experience and key achievements, keeping it concise and professional.
